A 6-day trip to Singapore
Singapore or the Singapura (Singa - Lion, pura - city in Sanskrit) as it was originally named, is a sovereign country on the southern tip of the Malay peninsula. Legend says that in 13th century, a Sumatran king Sang Nila Uttama, was the first person to visit this land. As he landed here, he saw a beast that looked like a lion and hence he named this place Singapura. This name later got changed to a modern Singapore. Coincidentally, lions are not native to this part of the world. What animal the king saw is still debatable. Some say that it was creature with a lion face and a fish body and hence it was called Merlion, which later became a symbol of Singapore.
This is 6-day trip to Singapore. Of the 6 days, the first and last days were left to travel. So the remaining 4 days were quite good enough to visit all major attractions.

Day 1: Arrival in Singapore
Arrival in Singapore
Today, we arrived in Singapore. Since we arrived quite late, we did not look out for any places. We just checked in to enjoy a good sleep. One can book a cab via the Grab app or Uber. Changi airport also offers chauffer facilities to any hotel inside the city so that could be availed too. SIM Cards are available in the airport. It is better to exchange currency from home and SGD is readily available.

Day 2: Gardens by the Bay and Marina Sands Bay
Local city tour
Today was the city tour. The first stop was the Singapore Flyer. It is a Ferris wheel which gives us a city view from the top of the wheel. The next visit was to the iconic Merlion, where water blasts through from the mouth of Merlion. One gets amazing view of the iconic Marina Sands Bay and other huge skyscrapers. This is one of the best view places. Moving on, we made a stop at the Marina Sands Bay observation deck. It is located on the 56th floor of tower 3. Interestingly, the elevator takes just a minute to reach the top floor. Splendid views of the city all around is the major attraction. Gardens by the Bay is another beautiful location, adjacent to the Marina Sands Bay. As the name says, it is a huge park which ends on the bay. A river also meanders along the garden before emptying itself in the bay. There are many structures inside the park like the Supertree Groove, Cloud Forest and Flower Dome. There is also a musical show in the gardens which should not be missed.

Day 3: Universal Studios
Universal Studios
Today was a visit to the famous Universal Studios. It is a theme park and the first in South-East Asia. There are many zones inside the theme park. Madagascar (closed temporarily), Far-far away (Shrek and Puss-n-Boots), The Lost World (Jurassic Park), Ancient Egypt, Sci-Fi City (Star wars and Transformers), New York (Street dance show and Filming technique), Hollywood. There are a lot of rides, shows where people from all ages can enjoy. Sci-Fi zone has two rollercoasters called Battlestar Gallactica. Similarly, Egypt zone has a dark roller-coaster with the concept of the Mummy. The Jurassic Park also has a water world. The boat ride is a major attraction here and attracts a huge crowd. Similarly, another ride is the transformers ride, where a 4D movie is played along with a ride. The New York zone offers a street dance show. There are 4D shows in Far far away zone where kids can enjoy a realistic show.

Day 4: Sentosa Island
Sentosa Island
We started day 3 to visit to the Sentosa island. We used cable car to reach the island. This is one of the oldest and the best cable cars. It is a major attraction as it provides 360 degrees panoramic view of the sea and the city. The cable car starts from Mount Faber on the mainland to the Imbiah Lookout station on the Sentosa island. The first stop from here is the Madame Tussaud's wax museum, which is about a 100 m from the station. After a roam in the museum, the next stop for us was the SEA Aquarium. The SEA Aquarium is one the largest aquariums I have ever been to. There are so many species and fishes bred here. The next activity here was the Luge and Skyline. Skyline is a type of cable car ride. One can sit on the bench type seat and it carries you to the top of the hill. From here, one can come down in a vehicle called as Luge. Our last stop was at the Wings of Time. This is an amazing show and not to be missed. The show is a mix of laser, musical fountain, fire, fireworks.

Day 5: Mandai Zoo and Night Safari
Zoo and Night Safari
Our next visit was to the Mandai Zoo. The zoo is about 30kms from the city. Some exotic animals like the Rhinos, Hippos, Kangaroos, Penguins are a treat to watch. There are other attractions in the zoo - River Splash and Night Safari. We took the Night Safari option. Night Safari is one of the most unique attractions in Singapore. Normally, you can see safaris in national parks that occur in the daytime. But during night it is a different experience. The night safari starts at 7.30 PM. There are two ways that one can take. A trail is built up and one can follow the trail to see all animals. The walk would take around 1 hour. Or board a tram which takes you through selected animal hideouts. This takes around half an hour. The advantage of the walk is that the trail takes you through a lot more animals than in the tram. There is also a show here called the Creatures of the Night. This show showcases the animals that come out during the night after sunset

Day 6: Departure from Singapore
Departure from Singapore
We departed from Singapore carrying with us the wonderful experiences and memories. Also, note Changi airport has some more attractions. In case you have time, you can visit those too. Though expensive, Singapore is a must visit country.
